The day starts again along beautiful rolling hills, leaving Santiago by a road surrounded by an impressive cork oak forest. After crossing the sleepy village of Sonega, you’ll be entering the Sw Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park, soon getting to Porto Covo, a quiet and picturesque fishing village with its typical whitewashed houses with a blue stripe. It’s the Atlantic Alentejo! Follow the coast up to a nice fort by the beach from where you can appreciate a rocky island. Then you continue south till you get to Vila Nova de Milfontes, a beautiful and lively village by the sea right in the mouth of river Mira, well worth exploring.

In this day you’ll be riding on the Natural Park with amazing views over the sea and visit the stunning and mythical Cape Sardão, from where you can admire the incredible stork nests on the cliffs. From this point onwards, the ride is right on the edge, near spectacular cliffs, as you head to another small fishing harbour and the typical village of Zambujeira do Mar. Continuing South through farming fields, you’ll be getting to Odeceixe, after crossing a river, where the wild Algarve coast starts.

Day 6: Odeceixe » Arrifana | 55 km, +700 m, 15% off-road
Start the day by going to one of the most beautiful places in this coast, the beach of Odeceixe! After crossing the coastal plateau you will go down again to reach the incredible beach of Amoreira, before following a valley, where once caravels sailed, to the village of Aljezur, about 7 km inland. Go up the narrow streets, through typical houses and get up to the medieval castle of Aljezur, from where you can clearly see all the way you’ve done from the beach to this point. Follow the winding road that sweeps down from the cliff top to the sea to reach the stunning coastal village and beach of Monte Clérigo. The day finishes at the amazing Arrifana bay, from where you get great views, if you care to go just a bit further till the fortress on the edge of the cliff.

Going back inland, the day will end at the unique village of Vilarinha, nestled among the rolling hills of the wild inland coastal Algarve.
Accommodation: Monte da Vilarinha
Day 8: Vilarinha » Sagres | 40km, +400 m, 70% off-road

Continuing south along the Algarve wild coast, the day ends at the Cape St. Vicente, the most South-western point in Continental Europe.
Accommodation: Memmo Baleeira Hotel 4*
